One person that wants to get a bit of colour into men’s fashion.

           

              

Bike Crazy Kiwi was essentially borne out of frustration.

I could not find what I wanted so in the good fashion of kiwi DIY I went and made it.

The lights went on when one person crossed the street, followed me into a shop and wanted to buy the very shirt I was wearing if no others were available. Surprised by this, but pretty happy, I decided to get a few more fabrics, get the kids and sis involved and the result is Bike Crazy Kiwi, offering shirts as unique as you.

 

                   

Anyone. Bike Crazy Kiwi is for anyone proud of their body image, anyone who wants to dress it up in tailored colour or patterns. Anyone who doesn’t like bland and boring.

 

                           

We look - me, my partner, my kids.

We use our eyes, we explore shops and if the fabric catches our eye enough that we want to pick it up and touch it, its made the first cut and its got a chance.

We often spend time wandering through fabric shops saying “hey what do you think of this” and “this one is cool” and we also spend a lot of time online looking for cool stuff too.

 

                      

Louise, my sister who has been in the industry for 30 years, cuts the material from patterns or we them cut locally, they are then stitched into the final product. Bike Crazy Kiwi is made in NZ and we are proud of it.

 

                   

I like bikes, I have 11 of them. I own them, I ride them, I fix them (and break a few at times…)  and we believe that the concept of form and function and colourful pride embedded in the design of a modern bike, along with the fun of riding, should also be a concept represented in what we wear.
